ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE TECHNOLOGY
STEEL MINI MILL MANUFACTURING
An Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) steel mini mill is a steel manufacturing facility which produces steel from recycled scrap metal. Unlike integrated steel mills, which make new steel from iron ore in a blast furnace, steel mini mills melt and refine scrap metal using electricity which makes this the fastest growing green industry in the country.
Steel mini mills accounted for 10% of U.S. steel production in 1970, by 2018, 67% of the national steel output was produced in steel mini mills. We anticipate building a steel mill with an estimated initial capacity of 500,000 to 700,000 metric tons that can be expanded to one million metric tons.
